Before he was “Dr. Dan”, he grew up in NE Ohio always wanting to look at bugs, butterflies and take care of animals. He wishes he had kept up with piano, but his love for science kept growing until….

One day in spring of 1998 he said, “I’ll even get up in front of people and speak, if you want me to!” His wife knew that “Dr. Dan doesn’t do crowds, public speaking and computers!” His first event was a group of more than 200 in Montrose, Colorado during fall of that year. Later, in 2005 an acquaintance asked, “Can you teach our son Caleb Biology?” Now that 11 years and nearly 5,000 hours of teaching hours have been invested, Dr. Dan loves watching the science excitement light turn on for kids – and many adults, too!

His approach is to make learning fun, understandable and memorable, which includes lots of doing, stories, illustrations, demonstrations and questions put out there for the learners. Yes, he wants them to think, explore, move, observe, record and KEEP on growing in ALL areas of learning. Many of the learning skills acquired during Dr Dan’s Science Sessions readily carry over into other classes and certainly life!

After eight years of post high school study, Dr. Dan Korow earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The University of Akron and completed a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 1990. After practicing at a small animal veterinary clinic in Akron, Ohio, he and his wife Andrea moved to Grand Junction, Colorado in early 1998.

Dr. Korow has presented a variety of seminars as a former speaker/trainer with a nationwide organization. He has also spoken at the CHEC (Christian Home Educators of Colorado) and UTCH (Utah Christian Home School Association) home school conventions for several years. Currently, he teaches a full scope of science classes for home schoolers. He, his wife Andrea and their young son reside in Cedaredge, Colorado.
